Quarried, washed and processed on site, well graded medium sands are our speciality. In addition to our building sand (which is the most popular bricklaying sand used on the Isle of Man), we produce a concreting sand, paviour bedding sand / kiln dried paviour jointing sand, 6mm gravel (pea gravel) and 14mm gravel. Our unwashed sand is generally very clean and may be used as dug for blinding or covering pipes and cables. All our aggregates have a sulphate and chloride content of less than 0.001%.

Below are full descriptions of each type of sand and gravel, with a typical grading analysis shown to the right of each.

Building Sand

A washed fine sand suitable for brick laying and rendering.

Concreting Sand

A medium coarse washed sand that is suitable for concreting, and particularly as bedding layer for block paving,where the coarse element provides drainage.

Kiln Dried Sand

A washed sand, dried in our own kiln. Specifically for use in the jointing of block paving, the use of which ensures vertical joints are properly filled to give a good interlock.
